Setups and repairs
Every guitar leaves here playable
Nothing goes on the wall until the truss rod, action and intonation have been set. Factory setups are a starting point, not a finished instrument.
Nobody here has ever won anything
Two hundred of us meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The front runners do eighteen minutes and the back does forty, and we all finish in the same car park.
First four sessions are free, and there is no membership after that either.
Vegetable tanned
It should look worse than this in ten years
No pigment coat, no plastic finish. The hide darkens where you handle it and scuffs where you drop it, which is the whole reason to buy leather at all.
Lessons and hire
We will not put you in the water on a bad day
Lessons are cancelled and refunded whenever the forecast turns, without being asked. There is no point learning to read a wave in conditions nobody can read.
Three doughs, one oven, no freezer
Everything is mixed the night before and baked the morning it is sold. Whatever is left at four goes to the shelter on Wharf Road rather than back in a chiller.
