Live demo — five different builds
Text Columns 1
Live demo of the SF Text Columns 1 section — five expertly-customized variations on one page.
Six stages, and what each one actually buys you
Most practices bill in these stages without explaining them. Here is what happens in each, and what you get at the end of it.
-
Feasibility
Two weeks establishing whether the thing you want is possible on the plot you own, before anyone draws anything.
-
Planning
Drawings, statements and the pre-application meeting. We handle the council correspondence and forward you the dull parts.
-
Technical design
The package a builder can price accurately, which is the difference between a quote and a guess.
-
Tender
We send the same pack to four contractors and put the returns side by side so you compare like with like.
-
On site
Fortnightly visits, written after every one, whether or not anything has gone wrong.
-
Handover
Snagging, certificates and a folder of everything. You should never have to ring us to find a guarantee.
What we do, and roughly what it costs
Every price is on the wall by the door and on the website. Nothing is quoted only after you are in the chair.
-
Check-ups
BookTwenty minutes, every six months or twelve depending on what your mouth actually needs rather than a policy.
-
Hygienist
BookHalf an hour of scaling and a genuine lesson in brushing, which is duller and more useful than anything else here.
-
Emergencies
Call usTwo slots held empty every morning. Ring before nine and you will be seen the same day.
-
Nervous patients
Read moreLonger appointments at no extra cost, and a stop signal we actually stop for.
Eleven languages, forty-two translators
All of them working into their first language only, which is the single rule we have never broken.
-
Certified translation
Stamped and accepted by the Home Office, universities and every court we have dealt with so far.
-
Technical
Patents, manuals and safety documentation, handled by translators who trained in the field first and languages second.
-
Literary
Slow, expensive and the part we would keep if we could only keep one. Sample chapters priced by the thousand words.
-
Interpreting
Consecutive and simultaneous, in the room or remote, booked by the half day.
-
Subtitling
Timed, burned in or as sidecar files, in whichever of the nine formats your platform insists on.
-
Second reading
Send us something translated elsewhere and we will tell you honestly whether it needs redoing.
Everything moves by bike
Nine riders, no vans, and a delivery time that has not been beaten by a van since 2019.
-
Same hour
Inside the ring road, collected within twenty minutes and delivered within the hour. Priced by distance, not urgency.
-
Standing runs
The same collection at the same time every weekday, invoiced monthly. Most of our work is this.
-
Cargo
Up to 120kg on the trailers. We have moved a fridge, a harp and roughly nine hundred boxes of leaflets.
Open Saturdays, nine until one
Anyone can walk in. You do not need a plot, a membership or any idea what you are doing.
-
Plots
Forty-two of them, five metres by two. The waiting list is honest and currently about fourteen months.
-
The shared beds
Anyone can pick from these, member or not. That is the point of them and we would rather they were raided.
-
Tool library
Borrow anything in the shed with a name in the book. Nothing has gone missing in six years.
-
Compost
Three bays on rotation. Bring kitchen waste in a bucket and take finished compost away in the same one.
