Everything after the sale
A bike is a five-year relationship with a workshop, not a single afternoon at a till.
Workshop
Two mechanics, six days a week. Most jobs booked in before Wednesday go out the same week.
Roadside
Free recovery within fifteen miles for anything bought here, whatever the fault turns out to be.
Trade-in
Bring the old frame in and we will price it against anything on the floor, including sale stock.
Three weeks from tree to table
We buy small lots, roast in six-kilo batches, and would rather run out than hold stock until it flattens.
Roasted to order
Nothing is roasted before it is bought. The date on the bag is the day it came off the drum.
Out within a day
Orders placed before eleven leave the same afternoon, which usually means coffee on the table by Thursday.
Standing order
Pick a fortnightly or monthly rhythm and change the origin whenever you feel like something different.
Four ways into the week
Every class is taught by the person who wrote it. Nobody covers a session they have not been through themselves.
Restorative
Sixty minutes, four postures, a lot of props. No sequence and no counting.
Strength
Loaded, slow and repeatable. Bring shoes you can actually stand still in.
Beginners
Capped at eight so nobody spends the hour at the back copying the person in front.
Early doors
Six forty-five, three mornings a week, finished and showered before the office opens.
What comes out of the studio
One kiln, two firings, and a rejection rate we are not especially proud of but will not lower.
Thrown, not cast
Every piece is turned on the wheel, so no two are quite the same height.
Reclaimed clay
Trimmings go back in the bucket. Almost nothing leaves the studio as waste.
Packed by hand
Paper and cardboard only. If it arrives broken we replace it, no photographs required.
Oven and dishwasher
Stoneware fired to 1260°C. It is tableware, not an ornament.
Signed underneath
Maker's mark and year on the base of everything that passes the second firing.
Who to ring, and when
Three lines, three teams. Nothing routes through a switchboard and nothing sits in a shared inbox overnight.
