Seven-ply hard rock maple, cold-pressed one at a time. We buy from a factory we can drive to, which is why a warped board gets replaced rather than argued about.
Made to order
Nine weeks, one bench, one maker
Every piece is cut, jointed and finished by the person whose name is on the drawing. There is no second bench and no subcontractor, which is why the lead time is honest.
Studio seconds
The ones that did not quite pass
A glaze crawl, a thumbprint in the foot, a rim a millimetre out of true. None of it affects how the piece holds tea, so it goes out at half price twice a year.
Poured in Margate
Sixty hours of burn, and a jar worth keeping
Rapeseed and coconut wax, cotton wick, no paraffin. When it burns out the glass takes a scoop of coffee or a toothbrush — which is rather the point.

Trays out by five, on your counter by seven
We bake for eleven cafés across the city. Standing orders are set once and adjusted by text — nobody has ever had to log into anything.
